안녕하세요 여러분! Today, we'll study Korean with a Korean dialogue.

DIALOGUE 1:

W: 기분이 안 좋은 것 같아요. 무슨 일 있어요?

M: 제가 잘못을 해서 요즘 여자 친구와 사이가 나빠졌어요.

W: 무슨 잘못을 했는데요?

M: 며칠 전에 여자 친구 생일이었는데 제가 바빠서 선물 준비를 못 했어요.

W: 지금이라도 선물하지 그래요?

M: 생일이 지났는데 지금 선물을 줘도 괜찮을까요?

Sentence By Sentence Breakdown:

기분이 안 좋은 것 같아요.

기분이 안 좋다 = Is a phrase In Korean meaning 'to not be in a good mood'

(으)ㄴ 것 같다 = It seems like

무슨 일 있어요?

This also a common phrase in Korean meaning 'What happened?'

제가 잘못을 해서 요즘 여자 친구와 사이가 나빠졌어요.

잘못하다 = to make a mistake, do wrong

아/어/해서 = So, Since

사이 = relationship (a mutual relationship or the degree of emotional bond in a relationship.)

~지다 is attached to adjectives to give it the meaning of 'to become'

나빠지다 = to become bad

예쁘지다 = to become pretty

조용해지다 = to become quier

무슨 잘못을 했는데요?

~는데요 = this grammar has many different usages, but I think this was meant to make the sentence softer and more polite.

며칠 전에 여자 친구 생일이었는데 제가 바빠서 선물 준비를 못 했어요.

며칠 전에 = a few days ago

생일 = birthday

선물 = present

는데 = In this sentence this is used to mean 'but, however'

못 하다 = can't

지금이라도 선물하지 그래요?

(이)라도 = At least, Instead, Even if only

지금이라도 = Even now, Now at least

~지 그래요? = Why don't you..?

This grammar is used to give recommendations and advice

선물하다 = give a present

생일이 지났는데 지금 선물을 줘도 괜찮을까요?

지나다 = to pass (by)

주다 = to give

~도 괞찮다 + 을까(요)

= Can I do, May I do + Asking for someone's opinion

줘도 괜찮을까요?

= Is it okay to give...

= Would it be okay if I...
