1 Song with 2 Titles ?

Welcome or welcome back to koreanstudyjunkies. I'm Angel, and in this blog post, we're going to talk about K-pop songs šŸŽ¶

For some of you that learn Korean with the help from K-pop, did you realize that some (or most) K-pop song have double title. In my experience, learning/ keeping up with Korean through K-pop song, I prefer knowing the Korean title because somehow it connects better with the lyrics.

Without further ado, let's get to the song titles~

(note : I would pick a song that I know a little bit better than the other, so when I give a little description about the song, I hope it minimize the mistakes that I'll make, and if at the end I still make mistake, please let me know)

ź·øėŸ¼, ģ‹œģž‘ķ•˜ģž~

I bet you all know this song in English, it a song on a by BTS (ė°©ķƒ„ģ†Œė…„ė‹Ø) featuring Halsey. It's Boy with luv, the title track in Map Of The Soul Persona album. Just like the Korean title, the song share a little things that the writer love through a poem.

vocabulary :

ģž‘ė‹¤ (to be small)

ź²ƒ (thing)

~ė“¤ (turn noun into its plural form (so, thing become things))

ģ„ (object marking particle)

ģœ„ķ•˜ė‹¤ (for/ to do for the sake of)

ģ‹œ (poem/ poetry)

ģž‘ģ€ ź²ƒė“¤ģ„ ģœ„ķ•œ ģ‹œ = poem for small things

It's a title track from a group that is known for its long song title, just like its group namešŸ˜Œ, Tomorrow X Together (ķˆ¬ėŖØė”œģš°ė°”ģ“ķˆ¬ź²Œė”). Blue Hour is a bright and cheerful disco title song in minisode 1 : BLUE HOUR EP. This song talks about a relationship with a preference of blue hour a state between night and day, or as written in the song, ā€œbetween two worlds.ā€

vocabulary :

ģ‹œ (hour)

ė¶„ (minutes)

ķ•˜ėŠ˜ (sky)

~ģ—ģ„œ (in the~)

ė°œź²¬ķ•˜ė‹¤ (to be found)

ė„ˆ (you)

ģ™€ (and)

ė‚˜ (i)

5ģ‹œ 53ė¶„ģ˜ ķ•˜ėŠ˜ģ—ģ„œ ė°œź²¬ķ•œ ė„ˆģ™€ ė‚˜ = (I) found you and I in the sky at 5:53

After talking about 2 title tracks, were going to move to a b-side track. you guys familiar with the song "it's like a po-o-o-laroid love" ? The group, Enhyphen (ģ—”ķ•˜ģ“ķ”ˆ), has a b-side track in dimension:dilemma album with a title "Just A Little Bit". It's kinda unbelievable that this was their first time sing a ballad song, because they're good at conveying the emotion through singing it live or in the recording as well. Are you curious how would the singer of "Poloid Love" sings a ballad song? go check it out then.

vocabulary :

ėŖØė„“ė‹¤ (to don't know)

ėŖ°ėžģ–“ = (I) didn't know

A group that known for its loud song, had made a clap-back with a wordplay "no easy" and "noisy" for their second full studio album. Stray Kids (ģŠ¤ķŠøė ˆģ“ķ‚¤ģ¦ˆ) NOEASY's title track, Thunderous, is a hip hop song with a touch of Korean traditional music. the song expresses their firm belief that they will keep to their principles no matter what anyone says.

vocabulary :

ģ†Œė¦¬ź¾¼ = singer

That's all for today blog, I'm really sorry if it's too short. But, if you actually feel that way, I think it means you have more time to read other koreanstudyjunkies blog šŸ˜

See you next time! ė‹¤ģŒģ— ė˜ ė“ģš”! šŸ‘‹

At the end you said ė‹¤ģŒģ— ė˜ ė“ģš”, but forget to add ā€againā€ in see you next time. So, it would be "SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT TIME. Just to correct it.
